Heart Matters

Electro Cardiology

She can’t believe the criminals nowadays
Are spying inside my body
With their camera snake gliding through the portal
Its one eye focused on the heart
Where so many other eyes have been but none
So hot as that cauterizing needle
Nor eye precise as the microscopic lens takes in
The busy darting harbor of my heart’s
Charge, to keep good time for the band and swing
Its arms to funky arias of the atrium
Not runaway horses, the bullet in the bear den.
