I Googled ‘Liberals with Guns’. There is a website, but it reads like a gun fanatic’s screed. I have no love of guns. I didn’t grow up with them and don’t own one. They scare me. But the right wing scares me more. Second Amendment Solutions are available to Leftists too. When AK-47 toting weekend warriors in snakeskin boots and ten gallon hats strut outside of Obama rallies, liberals wring their hands. That’s typically stupid and weak. Liberals, Progressives and Leftists should show up armed to the teeth at Republican rallies. Oh yeah, even having an anti-war button or T shirt got you hauled away from Bush rallies. What was it Eddie Murphy said? “I’m your biggest nightmare, a n—with a gun.” It’s time to say, “I’m your biggest nightmare, a Leftist with a gun.” Imagine if the Second Amendment rally in DC last year had been met by Al Sharpton, Denis Kucinich and Ralph Nader dressed in fatigues with .357 magnums on their belts? A demented fantasy? The path of language is the poet’s ancient way. It civilizes humanity. That is the liberal hope. But this is a failing hope dying in a dying world. The game has changed.
