No Way To Unzip

No Way To Unzip

No way to unzip quietly

the teeth rip across

the permafrost of t.v.

broadcast on the bed,

your arms bent about the pillows,

cheeks relaxed in sleep.

Pains dispersed collect

and in love

darkness is the shield.

What a fool I am

when the hunger comes

to read your vital distillates.

I undress.

Words flock

across the brackish ways.

They stretch their pteradactyl

wings out and launch their gothic cry:
Awake! my Lord and Ladie.
