They Didn’t Build It, We Did

Last night the party of the 1% were on message so even Rick dog fucker Santorum couldn’t unload more than the approved platitudes of the evening, referring to abortion only by inference, and not wading into the question of bestiality and gay marriage at all. Boo hoo. I was hoping for some far right fireworks, not the bland chant of “We Built It”. 2008’s “Drill Baby Drill” was so much more inspiring! But maybe they really don’t want to suggest their particularly demented brand of sex, so they stuck with the delusion shared by all ruling classes, that they actually built it. Of course what they meant to say is, “We Own It!” You don’t have to be a Marxist to know that he who owns it doesn’t necessarily build it. My favorite example in the parade of entrepreneurs was a woman who mounted the podium and crowed about her family’s fruit farm. She worked at the fruit farm her parents built! And they built it! I don’t suppose any of that fruit was picked by Mexicans, hmmm?
